Recently, Dr. Vivek Shanbhag taught the students of the San Jose Center for Spiritual Enlightenment, about Health & Wellness as defined by Ayurveda & Yoga.

In Ayurveda, health is defined as a participatory ongoing process of achieving and maintaining a dynamic balance in all aspects of life — physical, biochemical, intellectual, emotional, behavioral, spiritual, familial, social, environmental, and universal.

Through customized, comprehensive natural therapies, including nutrition, botanical & herbal medicines, exercise, rest & rejuvenation, detox, and counseling therapy, we can address an individual’s psychosomatic constitution and any current imbalances that they are experiencing.

The goal of this process is not just to heal disease and reestablish balance, but also to prevent disease and promote positive health. Rather than simply suppressing the symptoms, Ayurveda addresses the root cause of the problem and empowers us to take our health into our own hands.
